My name is Natalya and I am a Geography student at UCL, although I have not been in London since March 2020. I spent this time in-between Moscow and Tyumen, which is a city in Central Russia, not far from the border with Kazakhstan, and also my hometown. Before university, I went to school in West Sussex. I first learnt about climate change and environmental degradation on my own, with the help of the Internet, when I was 12 or 13, as it was not discussed in Russian schools or in the news at the time. I distinctly remember a feeling of shock and dread, and the question of “Why isn’t everyone talking about this and doing something to stop this?” unanswered in my head. I think that we need radical changes to take place as soon as possible, since if we wait, it might be too late, and Voiz is a great place to start putting those changes in motion.
