Hello everyone! My name is Emily Boyd. Currently in my second year at the University of York studying History and French, I am looking forward to using my analytical and communication skills to encourage more sustainable practices by providing the public with information on the products they buy. I am interested in learning more about some of the products that I buy too and how the production processes behind these products could be more sustainable. Whilst consumers should be held accountable for what they choose to buy, I am also convinced that the companies we buy from should be held responsible for their own choices in the production process and advertising. The greenwashing of products has led to a lack of transparency which makes it harder for consumers to make informed choices about what they are purchasing. During my time with Voiz, I hope to produce reviews that put pressure on large corporations to change the way that they run. This should encourage them to become more transparent about their processes and force them to adapt their operations to be less harmful for the planet. I truly believe that the future of our planet is in our hands and that action must be taken without delay. I am very passionate about sustainability and I am hopeful that it we all work together, a livable future is possible. In my free time I enjoy painting, baking, playing the saxophone and going for long walks in the Yorkshire Dales.
